Introduction
Take a look at some of the Ivoclar ProBase Hot acrylic partial dentures we have recently completed and shipped to our U.S. partner labs. Each case was made individually to meet the clinical requirements, with the specified materials and technical parameters carefully followed.
Materials used: Ivoclar’s ProBase Hot: A heat-curing material designed primarily for the packing technique.
Production method: The products below are handcrafted using conventional wax-up, flasking, and heat-cure processing, followed by manual finishing and high-shine polishing.

Case 6: Mandibular Removable Partial Denture with Posterior Tooth Loss
Clinical condition: Multiple posterior teeth are missing, with anterior abutment teeth remaining.
Design: A gingiva-colored acrylic base closely adapts to the residual ridge, replacing the missing posterior teeth. A connector provides additional stability.
Retention: C-shaped metal clasps are placed on the abutment teeth adjacent to the edentulous area.
Artificial teeth: Aesthetic acrylic teeth are used to restore chewing function and maintain the proper occlusal vertical dimension.
Case 7: Maxillary Partial Denture Case
Clinical condition: Consecutive loss of the anterior teeth, including the central and lateral incisors, with abutment teeth remaining on both sides.
Design: A compact prosthetic design with an acrylic base covering the anterior residual ridge, optimized for aesthetics, particularly when smiling.
Retention: Metal clasps are positioned toward the abutment teeth on both sides.
Artificial teeth: Five aesthetic acrylic teeth, including one lateral tooth, designed to create a balanced smile line and restore basic speech and chewing function.
Case 8: Single-Tooth Mandibular Flipper Case
Clinical condition: Loss of a single mandibular tooth. (This indication is typically intended for temporary use)
Design: A compact acrylic prosthesis designed to replace the missing tooth while minimizing bulk for patient comfort.
Retention: Metal clasp components engage the posterior abutment teeth.
Artificial tooth: Artificial tooth: Acrylic teeth with a seamlessly integrated acrylic denture base, restoring a natural appearance.
Case 9: Maxillary Partial Denture , Multiple Missing Teeth Case
Clinical condition: Partially edentulous arch with several missing teeth in scattered spans, so the remaining natural teeth are few and spaced apart. The patient needs a removable solution that restores function and aesthetics without preparing the remaining teeth.
Design: Pink acrylic base with a thin, smooth and well polished contour. The base spans the edentulous areas and extends into the buccal and labial flanges to support the artificial teeth and the surrounding soft tissue.
Retention: A single wrought wire clasp on the premolar area, plus close adaptation of the acrylic base to the soft tissue and undercuts. This gives adequate retention while staying lightweight and minimally visible.
Artificial tooth: Acrylic teeth in a natural ivory shade with subtle translucency at the incisal edges. Tooth shape and position blend with the patient's remaining dentition.
Case 10: Acrylic Partial Denture with Multiple Wire Clasps Case
Clinical situation: The patient requires the replacement of a continuous series of teeth, necessitating good aesthetics in the anterior region and support in the posterior region.
Design: Pink acrylic base with a wide palatal coverage and a posterior extension on the distal side for stability and even load distribution. The border has a smooth, glossy finish for comfort and easy cleaning.
Retention: Three wrought wire clasps placed on both sides of the arch (anterior left, mid arch and posterior right). They engage the natural teeth and balance retention across the denture, so it stays stable during chewing and speaking.
Artificial tooth: A row of acrylic teeth in a natural light ivory shade. Their well defined anatomical shape, size and alignment create a natural smile line and a good fit with the opposing arch.
